Many people believe that gardening is an ‘all year round’ job and yes this is true to some degree as there are always jobs you can do in your garden but the fact is most tasks are very seasonal. Here in the UK, we really have to wait until spring and summer to complete our main gardening jobs, especially if we’re planting new plants, shrubs, trees or vegetables. That said, as we approach the end of autumn you may be fortunate enough to get some early spring weather. Preparing for this period is important so do plan out the main tasks in your garden first. You can then identify which of the tasks takes the most time and which is the most important. Having a plan will make your life a lot easier, no matter what your gardening jobs are, so do try to prepare as much as possible now, then you’ll really be flowing during early spring.
