If you haven’t done any gardening since summer, your outside space may be starting to look a little bit wild. If you have many different mature shrubs and trees in your garden then it could be time for some pruning. This is your final chance to do so before the freezing cold weather arrives, and you can either do this with a chainsaw or with a pair of pruning shears.
We’d recommend the chainsaw because it’s quicker, but if you’re shrubs are quite young, then you may want to be more cautious, so the shears will be the better option in this case. Tidy hedges, trees and shrubs can make a world of difference in your garden, but you may think “why does it matter if I’m not going to use my garden again until next summer?”
Well, even if that is the case, it’s nice to know you won’t have too much work to do next year. It’s also nice to be able to look at the window and enjoy your garden. If you’re going to mow the lawn once more, then you may as well cut back your shrubs. Think of it as the final tidy up before the cold weather arrives.
